Sub Society 01:54
Gimme gimme gimme, I want a sub society. Since day one, molded, scolded who to be. I’m feeling ill from this force-fed society. All these animals you eat, this leather for your feet. And you’ll teach me today, so I will behave your way. Gimme gimme gimme, I want a sub society. Age sixteen, time for your employment dream. Their inception, internet or t.v screen. Oh it’s intentional, you’re heterosexual, what we raised you to be, you’ll have a better life you’ll see. The social media we see and read. Play-ground hysteria at its worst. Is it for you or me how I live and believe? So I ask this question first. Gimme gimme gimme, I want a sub society.

Troublemaker 02:16
We were just in our teens with our first guitars, when you live in the gutter you’re looking at the stars. Yeah I was so young but I could never agree, with all of the lies teachers were telling me. Smoking number ones and listening to bands, skiving school kept the power in our hands. We were drinking all night vandalizing our way, you wrote “I fought the law” but the law won that day. I wonder just what drives us all and how we navigate insight. Troublemaker, the trouble I would make with you. Trouble is you’re doing time. By now we were punks but you were mates with the chavs, pushing pills in the pubs not a drink with the lads. You were pushing too hard whilest I was well in the scene, studying anarchy in a D.I.Y ‘zine. Then you stopped coming to gigs, you stopped using your head, I started a band, you started fights instead. But my life wasn’t tough and maybe you were more scarred, when your old man died I know you had it hard. I wonder just what drives us all and how we navigate insight. Troublemaker, the trouble I would make with you. Trouble is you’re doing time. Not every scam you won. You were in and out of that courtroom sunshine. But where does that get you son? Nowhere far, only to Scotland yard. Troublemaker, the trouble I would make with you. Trouble is you’re doing time.

The Tension 01:40
I’ve never felt like I’ve got it all, always something that’s not right. I wanna smash it up, I wanna see it fall, oh I can’t sit still tonight. It’s been with me all my life, the tension. It’s something I don’t like, the tension. Chaos flirting with my mind, fifty fingers poking me. I wanna build it up, create my life, then dis-mantle all I see. It’s been with me all my life, the tension. It’s something I don’t like, the tension. This self destruction, it’s in my sights. The human condition, we’re bang to rights. Yes I’m bang to rights. Anxiety, psychiatry, nothing is O.K, yes it’s true. Is it in my mind? Was I born this way? Is there nothing I can do? It’s been with my all my life, the tension. It’s something I don’t like, the tension. I’ll never get it right, the tension

Listen up are you ready son for the greatest robbery? I found a job down in east London it’s a grey bank holiday. I feel my heart as it starts to pound, feel the train roll by and I don’t make a sound ‘cause we do it all for the money. The bees and the honey. Lying low in a tiny town where the law can’t touch me. The papers say that I’m famous now, is this my discovery? The lord knows that I have sinned but I’m working for a dream not a life on the bins ‘cause we do it all for the money. The bees and the honey. A pocket full of pretty green, now I gotta go. The pouring rain to the palm trees, Dover to Mexico. Her majesty’s now taking care but I lived my life like a millionaire ‘cause we do it all for the money. The bees and the honey.

Birmingham to LAX. I came to see what I could get. The land of O.C trust fund kids and big business punk rock stars, where ego’s get so fuck-off-big when you own ten punk rock cars. Now I don’t wanna be a millionaire and I don’t care who you know or If they’re a millionaire. yeah I got a better place to go. I caught the sun and some false hopes. Disillusion sun-stroke. It’s all about just who you know, schmoozing and greasing palms. Your money don’t mean power to me, yeah it’s got me up in arms. Now I don’t wanna be a millionaire and I don’t care who you know or If they’re a millionaire. yeah I got a better place to go. I resent the pressure. I resent society. I resent the media and what success should be. Titles and pay cheques all fueling your ego. So I tell you man there’s something you should know. Now I don’t wanna be a millionaire and I don’t care who you know or If they’re a millionaire. yeah I got a better place to go.

I wanna unlearn everything I've learned. I wanna knock down every wall and every institution and hierarchy rule. Thought I left school when I left school. I can start a new life away from the man. I wanna hear those status symbols crashing down. Wedding rings, just ringing in my ears. Narcissistic selfie syndrome, I can't look at you no more. I need a real life not a credit score. I can start a new life away from the man. Kicking and screaming for more than twenty years. The same ideals, dreams and fears. But I wanna grow up and I wanna move on, but away from. I can start a new life away from the man.

Infatuation 02:08
Tell me who you are. I need to know your name. So we can agree you belong to me now love is a power game. Infatuation. All my loving. All for you. Tell me something. Are you infatuated too? I don’t know who you are but I’m falling all the same. Someone to control with heart and soul and you’re the one I blame. Infatuation. All my loving. All for you. Tell me something. Are you infatuated too? Love has got out of line. Love has got so misunderstood. I can’t love you the way I should, no. Let go. And now we share this bed you must share your life with me. But your tradition got old when love got sold to paranoia and jealousy. Infatuation. All my loving. All for you. Tell me something. Are you infatuated too?

SMSMS 01:38
He doesn’t care about real life. All he wants is a million likes. Follows all the social trends. Minds as big as a camera lens. He’s a self-made social media star. He’ll only tag the right friends. His crappy life got me round the bend. Posting memes from his phone. Not a single thought of his own. He’s a self-made social media star. In reality he’s not that lewd. Half naked girls and his food. Not a single moment that he can call his own. Everything he sees is through his phone. He’s a self-made social media star.

You may never ever know me. I may never know you. I was told, “Go and get what you want” but you had it given to you. And I know if my chance came through I got something to ask you. Like if life is fair? Well, the truth I’ll share is I don’t really know and I don’t really care about your life at the top, the chance we never got. It’s something you’re born into. It’s your life at the top, the chance we never got, it’s no life for me and you. I may never ever know anything. Life just happens to you. Maybe it’s random and meaningless and there’s nothing I can do. So I’m working away, make my own luck today, but we may never see the view from your life at the top, the chance we never got. It’s no life for me and you. I can’t say if it’s right or wrong. There are problems we all overcome. When life gets hard we keep holding on, so judge success by where it is that you started from not your life at the top, the chance we never got. It’s something you’re born into. It’s your life at the top, the chance we never got, it’s no life for me and you. So I’m working away, make my own luck today, but we may never see the view from your life at the top, the chance we never got. It’s no life for me and you.
