We were just in our teens with our first guitars, when you live in the gutter you’re looking at the stars. Yeah I was so young but I could never agree, with all of the lies teachers were telling me. Smoking number ones and listening to bands, skiving school kept the power in our hands. We were drinking all night vandalizing our way, you wrote “I fought the law” but the law won that day. I wonder just what drives us all and how we navigate insight. Troublemaker, the trouble I would make with you. Trouble is you’re doing time. By now we were punks but you were mates with the chavs, pushing pills in the pubs not a drink with the lads. You were pushing too hard whilest I was well in the scene, studying anarchy in a D.I.Y ‘zine. Then you stopped coming to gigs, you stopped using your head, I started a band, you started fights instead. But my life wasn’t tough and maybe you were more scarred, when your old man died I know you had it hard. I wonder just what drives us all and how we navigate insight. Troublemaker, the trouble I would make with you. Trouble is you’re doing time. Not every scam you won. You were in and out of that courtroom sunshine. But where does that get you son?
